Mac Taylor’s Character
- He is the Head investigator of the New York police Department’s CSI Team. Originally, he is from Chicago and has relocated to New York after discharge from United States Marine Corps. He is the man with principals. He can never be disloyal towards, honor of his country, safety of his city and integrity of his lab. He always tries to find out connection between things and this way he succeeds in solving cases. In his personal life he had a wife, Claire, who died in 9/11 attack. Mac is still devastated due to her death as he has cherished a beach ball which she had blown, he says that her breath is still here. He does meet her son Reed Garret from her previous relationship. He is close with Detective Stella Bonasera. They share Christmas gifts and Reed, who was given away for adoption by his mother, mistakenly assumes her as his mother Claire. He is not interested in meeting Mac, but Mac goes to see him repeatedly and finally gifts him Claire’s photographs.

Awards and Nominations- Sinise was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1994 for his role as Lieutenant Dan Taylor in Forrest Gump. He won a Golden Globe award for Best Actor in a TV Movie or Miniseries for his role in Truman. In 1996, he played a corrupt police officer in the Ron Howard dramatic hit Ransom. In 1998, Sinise was awarded an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie for the television film George Wallace, a portrayal of the late Governor George C. Wallace.
Personal Life- Gary is the son of a film editor, Robert L. Sinise. He and his friends founded Steppenwolf Theatre Company. In the same company he sharpened his acting and directing skills. He has worked for about thirty productions of the company. He is married to actress Moira Harris since 1981 and they are blessed with three children.
Career- His first direction debut was in 1982, with Steppenwolf’s production True West. Then he appeared in a play American Playhouse with John Malkovich. In 1988, he directed Miles from Home. Later on he appeared in many films like Forrest Gump, Of Mice and Men, Apollo 13 and many more. He also narrated audio books of films, Of Mice and Men and Travels with Charley. In 2004, he stepped into CSI-NY and started shining in the eyes of people. He plays Bass guitar in the series which is his original music talent. He is also member of Lt. Dan Band, founded in 2003. He has also acted as narrator of ‘When We Left earth’ on discovery channel recently.
